The incorporation of gender and feminist politics into various areas of political science has become an increasingly important undertaking within the discipline. This growing emphasis reflects a scholarly commitment to critically investigate how power relations and social hierarchies are shaped and reproduced through gender, which traditional political analyses have often failed to address adequately. Nevertheless, much of this research still depends on individual initiatives or exists only in scattered form, underscoring the need for a systematic academic community where reciprocal feedback and rigorous theoretical and methodological development can thrive. This lab was founded in response to that need, providing a collaborative space for scholars engaged in gender and feminist political studies to share their work, advance their inquiries, and collectively enrich the field.

The lab is committed to developing research that rethinks essential concerns in political science such as political representation, the allocation of power, and the quality of democracy through the lens of gender and feminist politics. Rather than treating gender simply as an additional variable, the lab draws on feminist political theory to examine how power structures and social hierarchies function within political institutions and discourses. This approach seeks to critically reassess existing analytical frameworks and broaden the theoretical scope of the discipline, while also contributing to a reconsideration of democracy and political representation from perspectives that place gender at the center.
